About Steve Boettcher

28 years ago, Steve Boettcher began his career in printing as a pressroom mechanic with a narrow web label printer in Wisconsin. Through the years,  Steve served the industry with  several wide web flexible packaging rotogravure printers; first as an apprentice, then an operator and finally print manager. These companies include Menasha Corp, Milprint, Alcan and American Packaging.

For the past 8 years, Steve been the Technical Services Manager at FLXON Inc., the Charlotte based exclusive distributor of SWEDCUT® doctor blades.

In addition, Steve is a part of FLXON’s PTC (process technology control) Consulting Group, a consulting business providing press room audits, needs analysis, new equipment cost justifications, both operator and manager best practices training, as well as compliance audits and training.

Steve is widely recognized within the industry for his easy to follow “hands-on” approach to process fundamentals, his deep belief in total quality management though process control and his clear vision to bottom line generation. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences including the PLGA.

As an industry consultant, Steve has worked with more than 200 printing operations in Canada, the USA, Mexico and Europe. When he is not on-the-road, Steve operates a doctor blade analysis lab and product prototype shop in Wisconsin where he lives with his wife, Pam. During his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his family and flying his Piper Cherokee.
