Rotogravure text books have stated it and experienced operators know it: the optimum blade angle for print excellence is 60 degrees. When the blade engages the cylinder at this angle, the streaks, haze and fog that aggravate the blade end edge break, as well as dot fill-in, are greatly reduced.
